D-5440-NS Aerosol Can With A Black Lid and an Airplane Logo

Description

The Zip-Chem® D-5440NS Fluorocarbon Dry Lubricant is a fluorocarbon telomer that is chemically similar to Teflon* PTFE-fluorocarbon resin. Due to its chemical inertness and ability to withstand temperatures that range from cryogenic to 240°F (116°C). D-5440NS finds many uses throughout the aircraft. D-5440NS also prevents corrosion on metal substrates and provides a lubricating surface for them.

Application

The aerosol form of the Zip-Chem® D-5440NS Fluorocarbon is designed primarily to be used as a dry film lubricant or mold release where it is applied to a cold or warm surface (less than 240°F). It is formulated to provide the substrate with the highest adhesion possible while still providing lubricating properties or a good release. D-5440NS is also being used on slat tracks to prevent corrosion and provide lubrication without the buildup of debris that is typically found if greases and oils are used. D-5440NS can be used in conjunction with the Formit® extensions to provide targeted spray to areas that may be difficult to reach but need to be coated. Please refer to our Formit® technical data sheet for more information.
