Description

Zip-Chem® ZC-026 is a medium to heavy duty water displacing, thin film, corrosion preventive. ZC-026 is formulated to use on highly critical metal surfaces and avionic components. ZC-026 is ideal for protecting electrical connectors from corroding. Its thixotropic property prevents it from disrupting contact between connectors, and it prevents corrosion in the harshest environments. ZC-026 is available as an aerosol in the product D-5026NS.

Application of Product

ZC-026 protects cables and surfaces as well as other interior and exterior aircraft surfaces. ZC-026 can be used for initial protection during shipment and storage and for in-service treatment of critical areas. It also provides superior protection to avionic connectors and components and has lubricating properties to prevent fretting corrosion. The cured film of ZC-026 can withstand temperatures as low as -55°C and as high as 80°C continuously. The coating can withstand temperatures up to 105°C for only 500 hours cumulative. When storing ZC-026, Zip-Chem® recommends that it be stored at 40°F-100°F (4°C-38°C).For removal of ZC-026, we recommend ZC-640 (D-5640NS), Sur-Prep® 3160, or Sur-Prep® 3167.

Features

ZC-026 will not harm most paints, plastic, or insulation. ZC-026 will prevent corrosion and displace water. ZC-026 will also penetrate mated connectors to provide corrosion protection for assembly as well as in-service components.
