Zip-Chem will discontinue some products to exit per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS)

Sur-Prep® 608, Sur-Prep® 5672, Sur-Prep® 5673, D-5665NS and D-5671NS products are all being discontinued as they contain 3M HFE material which 3M has decided to stop manufacturing by 2025.3M announced that it plans to exit per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) manufacturing and work to discontinue the use of PFAS in its product portfolio by the end of 2025. In response to this decision, Zip-Chem Products Inc. will discontinue the manufacture of Sur-Prep® 608, Sur-Prep® 5672, Sur-Prep® 5673, D-5665NS and D-5671NS and replace it with other solvents.

We recommend that until replacement solvents are qualified, customers should consider stockpiling Sur-Prep® 608, Sur-Prep® 5672, Sur-Prep® 5673, D-5665NS and D-5671NS while they are still available.

For oxygen system cleaning currently approved for the D-5665NS and HFE-7100 material, Sur-Prep® 123 has already been qualified as a replacement and can be purchased in bulk formats. Sur-Prep® 123 can also be used for general purpose cleaning and is available for general purpose cleaning in both bulk and aerosol formats.
